Answer...... No, the primary function of police officers is not to raise revenue for the City of Duncan. They are encouraged to write as many tickets as they deem appropriate to control traffic violations. For conscientious officers, the primary function of writing a traffic citation is to prevent future violations that may save someone's life or protect their property when motorists obey the traffic laws.
Answer...... The Duncan Police Department prioritizes calls. High priority calls involving immediate danger to citizens are promptly dispatched. Responses to these calls usually take less than 5 minutes. Due to staffing considerations, lesser priority calls such as property loss crimes where the suspect has left or there is no known suspect are dispatched as soon as officers become available. Responses to these calls may take up to a few hours. If circumstances warrant a faster response, please let the dispatcher know the reason for the urgency and every effort will be made to accommodate your request.
